Piedmont College Edged Out By Emory University 68-61

In a closely contested game the Piedmont College Lady Lions had a four-game winning streak snapped by falling to host Emory University in Atlanta, GA tonight by the score of 68-61. Despite shooting 47% from the field, PC lost the turnover margin 26-16 en route to the seven-point defeat.

The first half featured seven lead changes and concluded with Emory taking a four point lead into intermission at 33-29. In the second half the Lady Lions rallied to within one possesion but were held off by the Eagles for the second time this season.

Beth Adcock lead three Lady Lions in double-figures with a game-high 20 points including 4-6 from the three-point line. Shemekia Trimiar chipped-in with 11 points, eight rebound, three steals, and three blocks.

Sarah Lane added 10 points and Sheena Trimiar accumulated seven points, seven rebound and five steals. PC was able to hold Emory to 37% from the field but was outrebounded 43-35.

The Lady Lions now stand at 8-4 overall and will return to action again on Wednesday, January 11th as they travel to Great South Athletic Conference opponent LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA with game-time scheduled for 6:00.
