With solid defense and a balanced offensive attack, the Piedmont College women's basketball team cruised to an 83-44 victory over Great South Athletic Conference host Wesleyan College in Macon, GA tonight. The 39-point win marks the tenth time this season the Lady Lions have been victorious by a margin of ten or more points.
Leading the way for Piedmont was Kayla Duncan who recorded a team-high 21 points and her fourth consecutive double-figure game. Stephanie Rainwater added 14 points including 4-7 from behind the tri-fecta. Beth Adcock chipped-in with six assists and three steals.
After starting the game on an 11-0 run the Lady Lions entered the half with a comfortable 44-19 lead. The second half produced almost a carbon copy of the first as PC held their opponents to only 25 points. For the game Wesleyan could only muster 30% from the field compared to 50% for the Lady Lions.
The victory moves the women to 13-5 overall and 6-2 in the Great South Athletic Conference. PC will return to action again on Saturday, January 28th as they travel to conference opponent Maryville College in Maryville, TN for a 2:00 tip-off.
