Piedmont Cruises To 68-36 Victory Over LaGrange

Extending their Great South Athletic Conference winning streak to three games, the Piedmont College women's basketball team earned a road victory over LaGrange College 68-36. The Lady Lions held their opponent to a mere 21% from the field and only 13 second half points.

Leading the way for PC was Nikki Sosebee who earned her fifth double-double of the season with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Beth Adcock also added 11 points and three steals while Sarah Lane added eight points and seven rebounds.

LaGrange was able to stay with Piedmont in the first half knotting the score at 10 apiece at the 11:00 minute mark. The Lady Lions were able to pull away from there and entered the half with a 33-23 lead.

It was all Piedmont in the second half as the Lady Lions outscored their opponent 35-13 en route to the 32-point victory. The margin of victory is the second largest of the season for PC.

Piedmont returns to action on Saturday, January 14th with a home GSAC contest with rival Maryville College. The afternoon includes a men's women's doubleheader beginning at 2:00 with a Coach Charles Cooper Memorial Presentation in between games.
