The Piedmont College women's basketball team moved to 3-1 overall on the season this evening with an easy 67-49 non-conference victory over Ferrum College in the opening round of the Methodist College Inn-Keeper I-95 Turkey Shootout in Fayetteville, NC.
After trailing by five midway through the first half, the Lady Lions closed the period with a 24-8 run to take a 34-23 advantage into intermission.
The second half was all Piedmont as the Lady Lions stretched their lead to 20-plus points and never looked back.
Beth Adcock tallied a career-high 16 points to to along with four assists while Sheena Trimiar and Kayla Duncan added 11 points apiece. For the game, Piedmont shot a blistering 6-11 (54.5%) from behind the three-point line while forcing 25 Ferrum turnovers. Ten different Lady Lions scored at least one point in the contest.
Piedmont returns to action tomorrow afternoon with a 4:00 tip-off against tournament host Methodist College.
