NCAA DIII WEEK FEATURE: Piedmont Tennis Takes on Orlando

By Joseph Garwood: Director of Athletic Communications

DEMOREST, Ga. - Two Teams. Two Houses. One Family.

In what has become an annual tradition, Piedmont men's and women's tennis spent their Spring Break in Orlando, Florida, full of early morning matches, some late nights on the court, and a ton of time together strengthening the bonds that create lifelong friendships.

The tennis may be the star of the show, but is not what makes the trip special. The Lions also spend a day at the beach, take on Gatorland in Orlando and close the trip with everyone's favorite, a day at Universal Studios.

Take a look at some of our favorite photos from this past season's trip and hear from some of our athletes on their favorite memories and shared experiences along the way.

It's literally just playing tennis with all of my friends. We're all together in one house and it's great.
Leyton Dunn, Men's Tennis Sophomore
One of the nights, on (Coach) Trey (Martin's) birthday, we try and throw him in the pool, which is always fun.

All of us living together for an entire week, we end up working together to get stuff done. It helps everyone get to know each other more on a personal level.

We all spend so much time together throughout the week, especially the off-court stuff, like hanging out, playing board games, watching professional tennis tournaments, it really helps us bond as a team.
