Season Preview: Men's Basketball

The Piedmont men's basketball team will tip off its 2024-25 regular season at home this weekend, hosting Johnson & Wales (NC) at Cave Arena this Saturday, November 16 at 2 p.m.

  1. The Lions are coming off an NCAA era program record 16 wins in the 2023-24 season.
  2. Piedmont was able to knock off Berea in the CCS Tournament Quarterfinals, as it hosted a postseason contest for the first time since the 2017-18 season.
  3. The Lions must replace longtime standout Ryan Jolly, as he departs following a superb final season in which he earned All-CCS First Team honors, D3hoops All-Region honors and was a Jostens Trophy Finalist.
  4. The returners are headlined by Fisher Darden, who had a breakout sophomore season and trailed only Jolly in scoring for last season's team.
  5. Piedmont was picked to finish fifth in the CCS by the league's coaches in the preseason poll
