Kansas City, MO -- Piedmont College men's basketball players
MICHAEL RUBIO and
WILL MARTIN have been honored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) as the association announced its Honors Court recognizing those collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics. The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents and gifts that these men possess off the court, and the hard work that they exhibit in the classroom. In order to be named to the Honors Court, an athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria.
Piedmont was the only Great South Athletic Conference school recognized on the NABC's Honors Court. The honors mark the fifth consecutive year that the PC men's basketball program has been recognized by the NABC and the duo's accolades mark the 14th NABC honor under head coach Lee Glenn's direction.
Earlier this season both Rubio and Martin garnered Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) and Georgia Basketball Coaches Association (GABCA) All-Academic honors.
To be eligible for the award players must carry a 3.2 cumulative GPA or higher and be a junior or senior on a NCAA or NAIA men's basketball team.
