Demorest, GA -- The Piedmont College Department of Athletics announced that
Greg Neeley has been named the school's new head men's and women's tennis coach. Neeley, who will also retain his duties as the top assistant for the men's basketball program, will take over both tennis programs beginning May 11th.
"I feel privileged to have the opportunity to lead the tennis programs here at Piedmont," stated Neeley. "Our great facilities, tradition, and first-class education should help attract quality student-athletes."
Neeley inherits a pair of the department's most successful programs as the men's team is owners of seven consecutive GSAC championships from 2001-2007 marking a league record for consecutive titles. The PC men's tennis team earned an at-large selection to the 2004 NCAA Division-III national tournament. The women's program was crowned GSAC champions in 2004 and 2005.
"Greg has shown the ability to identify student-athletes that will be successful at the Division-III level both on the tennis court and in the classroom," said Athletic Director
John Dzik. "I am confident that he will recruit the type of player that Piedmont College is looking for and rekindle the storied tennis programs."
