Lauren Fritsch Goza - 2005 & 2007 Graduate - Soccer (Bio at time of induction)
Lauren Fritsch was a standout goalkeeper for the Piedmont College women’s soccer program during her time on campus breaking every pre-existing program record before her career was done in Demorest.  Playing for then-Head Coach Jason Smith, Fritsch helped bring home the GSAC Conference Championship in 2001 as just a freshman knocking off long-time rival Maryville College in the title game.

Fritsch was a captain for the squad starting as a sophomore holding the role through her senior year and was a four-time All-Conference selection for her play on the field.   Perhaps more impressively, the keeper was named NCCAA All-Region and All-America all four years she suited up for the Green and Gold as well.

Before her time was out, Fritsch set new program bests in shutouts, goals against average, and overall saves being awarded many honors within the team including MVP and Best Defender.  Overall, Fritsch led to double-digit win totals in each of her four seasons posting an overall record of 50-33-4 with the team including  career high 15 wins in her sophomore season with the team.

A standout on the field, Fritsch worked just as hard in the classroom being named a NCCAA South Region All-Academic honoree in all four years before graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2005 with a degree in Political Science and minors in Criminal Justice and Business.  She was also a member of Chi Alpha Sigma Gamma Chapter, Vice President of the Piedmont SAAC in her junior year before being named President in her senior year, and served on Piedmont’s Leadership Board.

After her graduation in 2005, Fritsch worked as a Graduate Assistant under Head Coach Jimmy Stephens for the men’s and women’s soccer teams at Piedmont spending her time training the keepers while also assisting with various administrative duties including the planning of road trips and the scouting of new recruits.

Lauren was also hired by the GBI upon her graduation as an Investigative Assistant in the Region Eight Field Office in Cleveland, Georgia working full-time while also serving as a graduate assistant with Piedmont soccer and attending classes to complete her graduate degree.  Fritsch earned her Masters of Business Administration in 2007 finishing with a perfect GPA.

After completing her graduate work, Fritsch became a Special Agent with the GBI in 2007 working with the agency since then serving as a Commercial Gambling Agent as now one of the Senior Special Agents in her unit.
